Q The flooring of my home is marble. I would like to insert brass patti in the marble, but I am worried about it losing lustre and turning black in a couple of years. I’m also concerned about the availability. When should brass inlay be done? Is there a problem with installing it before the floor is polished? Or should it be inlayed afterwards.

Q We are in the process of redoing an old bungalow and wanted to clad one of the walls. Could you please tell us the cost analysis and the installation process for plywood and veneer wall cladding? The wall is 7 ft high and 9 ft wide. We have no termite or moisture problems. We could use melamine or lacquered polish on the surface but the decision would depend on cost. Simple polish is also an option.
