We are in the process of finalizing woodwork for our new apartment. Could you please advise us on the material to be used for kitchen cabinets and the woodwork for shutters? I’ve been hearing about materials such as MDF, different kinds of block boards, plywood, etc.

Q We have a conventionally constructed kitchen. For below-the-counter shutters, I am looking for an alternative to wood. I want a material that is water-proof, but looks modern, clean and aesthetic. While researching on the net, I found that stainless steel shutters are available. I want to see them firsthand before I decide. Is there any other material used for closet doors? If so, where I can find it in Hyderabad. Any suggestions?

Q Is it possible to replace only the kitchen cupboard doors? Is it less expensive and worth our while? Or is it better to just paint the old shutters?
