Orange Tree: Tribe

Orange Tree, an eco-conscious lifestyle brand, has unveiled their Tribe collection which brings together Jodhpur’s famous miniature paintings with the wood carvings and surface textures of African tribal art. Tribe is crafted from moonjh — a wild river grass found in arid areas near river banks. Moonjh is combined with other natural materials like cane, eco-friendly lacquer and glue to create an array of hanging lights, mirrors, and wall decor.

Tribe features beadwork and basketry from the Zulu tribe, hand-painted patterns inspired by the Maasai women, and the use of moonjh fibre as done by the Himba tribe. These authentic works have then been amalgamated with skillful Indian meenakari to bring a confluence of cultures.
