The forms and colours of the native Maldivian flora and fauna is the inspiration for Good Earth’s Annual Design Collection’19 — Maladvipa — which includes dinnerware, textiles and decor items. The Oceana dinnerware, edged with a hint of shining gold, is reminiscent of the wild flowers, white sand, blue lagoons, and turquoise waters of the tropical island. Maladvipa porcelain dinnerware is inspired by botanical renderings of the hibiscus, champas, trumpet flowers, tropical palms and palm leaves. Sea Jasmine, hand-thrown stoneware tapas plates and bowls with gold detailing, replete with motifs of tropical foliage and a garland of flowers set against the pale aquamarine of the ocean. A range of textiles like quilts, bedspreads, table-linen and cushions have either Maladvipa (a hand-block print) or Gulfiza (the tribal geometric motif) which come in rich jewel tones of anar crimson, aqua blue and jade green. Then there is a handcrafted brassware range made from recycled brass, and the glassware which is inspired by the shells and the aquamarine tones of the ocean.
