Baro is home to carpets and kilims from Tribaels, a collection curated by Jai Khanna. The origin of these woven treasures can be traced back to India, Afghanistan and Iran. The carpets from Afghanistan showcase hand-woven helicopters and tanks; while carpets from Persia are distinguished by the motifs designed by the tribes who created them. One of the striking kilims from the collection is the Persian Saumuk which highlights the tapestry weave.
It is handmade in silk wool and cotton, with the octagonal medallions in the kilim surrounded by the famous hooked design. Another beautiful piece is the Antique Persian Afshar which is a vegetable dyed rug woven on a cotton warp and weft. It features two central medallions which are surrounded by a plain ground with flowers and foliage scattered around it.
