Thanks to Milan-based food design laboratory Tour de Fork, fruit and vegetable peels need not end up in the bin anymore. You can make use of their range of kitchenware products called Second Chance. Drawing its inspiration from traditional Italian customs, where peels and other food waste are re-used in a completely new context, the Orange peel skewer can be hung near the radiator or heater. It can be used in similar fashion with lemon peels. The zesty oils contained in the skins will evaporate and engulf the room with their fragrance. You can later use the dried peels in jams, preserves and cakes.
