Soft Geometry presents virtual design show: Imagined, for uncertain times
Designers Utharaa Zacharias and Palaash Chaudhary of furniture design studio Soft Geometry conceived the idea of curating a virtual gallery showcase featuring 11 independent design studios from nine countries. Coined as ‘Imagined, for uncertain times,’ the show aims to share hope amid the world pandemic. The show explores dual themes of imagining unbound and uncertainty through the distinct lens of each participating studio.
‘Imagined, for uncertain times’ features a visual narrative of the 10 extraordinary works of furniture, lighting and sculpture, inhabiting an imagined gallery landscape created by Barcelona-based SPOT studio. Many design week and trade shows have been cancelled due to the pandemic, leaving the designers and art lovers to miss out on important cultural trends. The visual gallery presents a model vision for creative collaboration, mutual support within the design community and an opportunity to engage with a distanced audience. The response received has been overwhelming, where designers have exchanged stories of challenge, loss, determination, and hope in the opportunity to come, offer support and create. The show is available for viewing on their website till June 8.
