No-Mad unveils fabric shop in South Mumbai

Decor brand No-Mad has opened its first brick and mortar store — an original interpretation of India’s traditional fabric shops. Located within the Mangaldas Market at Crawford Market, Mumbai’s oldest, most iconic textile bazaar, the shop invites visitors to kick off their shoes, pull up a gadda and explore highlights from the brand’s collections of soft furnishings, fabrics by the metre and small accessories all within a unique, intimate space. Inside, the hallmarks of the traditional Indian fabric shop (metal trunks, cash boxes, and boldly printed shopping bags) mix effortlessly with the contemporary attitude of No-Mad’s designs. Founder Anuj Kothari explains how this synergy came to be, “No-Mad has always approached things a little differently. A good example is our ‘97% India’ philosophy. There are few settings more authentically Indian than this historic market, and we are delighted to be a small part of it.”
