Lego HQ to come up in Denmark

Denmark-based architectural firm CF Moller has designed a new headquarters for play materials bigwig, Lego, in Billund, Denmark. Featuring both work and play spaces for employees, the new 52,000-square-metre campus will be located a few streets away from the soon-to-open Lego visitor centre by BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group), a Copenhagen and New York based group of architects, designers, builders, and thinkers. Like BIG’s design, the office complex will feature a series of bold geometric forms reminiscent of Lego bricks. It will include open-plan work spaces, along with a public park, grief roofs, and various community facilities. Construction will be based on Lego’s values and innovative culture, and therefore this space would be both, a workplace and a playground for employees. It will bring together bright, flexible offices around a spectacular atrium with familiar Lego elements and colours, while the ground floor will provide a coherent Lego People House with space for social and physical activities bordered by a new public park. The project is likely to be completed by 2019.
